“Discovery With Jeremy Green”
Jeremy Green is an attorney and shareholder with Bryant, Lovlien & Jarvis in Bend. He joined the OSB in 2004.
To date, what professional accomplishment makes you proudest?
“Being recognized by Super Lawyers was nice. However, to be honest, I have never been motivated by ‘professional accomplishments.’ I am most proud watching my three beautiful daughters and incredible son become amazing young adults.”
What do you do out of the office that makes you a better lawyer?
“Coach youth sports (e.g., football, basketball, and baseball). To be an effective youth coach, you must plan, be flexible, remain patient, supportive and show grace. These are all traits that carry over into a transactional law practice.”
What is your favorite place in Oregon?
“My favorite place in Oregon is the Steens Mountain range. Steens Mountain is one of Oregon’s most rugged and remote mountain ranges. I have been visiting this mountain range (and surrounding areas) to hunt, fish and camp with family and friends since I was 16 years old.”
Outside your practice focus, what other law area fascinates you?
“Civil and criminal litigation – prosecutorial side. My late uncle, David Green, was a real estate transactional attorney with Stoel Rives. He encouraged me to pursue/develop a business/real estate transactional law practice (along with local government law). I often think that had my uncle not steered me toward transactional law, I would have pursued a career in criminal prosecution (country, state or federal) or civil litigation.”
If you didn’t go into law, then what would have been your career path?
“This is a really interesting and fun question. My dream was to pitch for the Los Angeles Dodgers. However, the Dodgers were not interested in right-handed college pitchers throwing in the mid to upper 80s. Because a career in the ‘Show’ was out of the question, I would have pursued a career in law enforcement or the military (special operations for sure).”
What book are you reading or podcast are you listening to right now?
“Joe Rogan and The MeatEater podcasts.”
How do you start your day?
“I enjoy hitting the gym first thing in the morning. Due to my work schedule, coaching commitments, etc., I find that if I do not work out first thing in the morning, I never will.”
Best concert you’ve ever attended? Where was it?
“I have two – Chris Ledoux (Hillsboro) and George Strait (Portland).”
